wow, seems like the cameras are everywhere! i don't know if this is true but i read that there is something like 1 camera for every 14 people in the UK. i'm here in America and it seems like this is what they are trying to do to us also. national security my ass. more like population control

As someone researching/documenting municipal security surveillance (not police, but city government security cams), people should know the shocking degree to which municipal security have no accountability mechanisms in place.
Video surveillance is an irreplaceable tool for law enforcement. The Problem is it is perverted by no oversight --in one city, Freedom of Information shows "no responsive records" relating to efficacy and oversight. Who Watches the Watchers? The greatest fear? No One.

I'm from northern Ireland, I have been stopped filming a number of times by the police, over here they use the preventation of terrorism act to stop you, they can say you are gathering information on police officers. I don't know if this is true but they can get away with murder under the prevention of terrorism act. Northern Ireland has a bad history and police are still being targeted by dissident republican organisations such as the RIRA, CIRA, INLA.

I'm in the USA and it's the same problem over here. The hater jackboot thugs despise having their lawbreaking taped. Get a camera and put it in their face. I suggest printing a copy of the law and put it on a press badge on your chest.
